Technical PVC roll flooring comes with two reliefs: round raised studs and groups of short ribs. The material under them is the same and the specifications are identical. The difference lies in how the floor behaves when wet, how it cleans and how it looks.
The two reliefs
Stud (botón). Flat round studs arranged in a regular grid. The classic pattern of technical floors: familiar from metro stations, gyms and buses.
Checker plate (nervado, damero). Groups of parallel ribs turned alternately through 90°. The pattern copies metal tread plate (chapa lagrimada).

The short rule: if the area gets wet, choose checker plate. If the area is dry and gets a lot of foot or wheel traffic, stud means less cleaning work.
Both reliefs hide scratches, dust and shoe marks better than a smooth covering.

Colours
In our vinyl roll flooring range the reliefs and colours are distributed as follows:
Stud:
- Silver Grey 7046: light silver-grey;
- Dark Graphite 7024: dark graphite;
- Black 017: black.
Checker plate:
- Pearl Grey 7046: light pearl grey;
- Blue-Grey 7009: cool grey-blue;
- Graphite 7031: dark graphite;
- Sand Beige 1019: sandy beige.
Light grey 7046 is available in both reliefs, so the choice of pattern does not tie you to a colour.
How to choose a colour
- Light shades reflect light. They suit storage rooms, basements and garages with poor lighting, and small camper interiors.
- Dark shades hide oil, tyre marks and dirt. But pale dust and sand show up on black.
- Mid greys and beige are the most forgiving: neither dust nor dark marks show on them.
- Beige is the "warmest": in a camper used for living it looks less technical.

What is the same for both reliefs
- 2 mm thick, 0.3 mm wear layer, class 32;
- roll width 2 m, length 30 m (60 m²);
- weight 1.45 kg/m²;

- glued installation, joints closed with welding cord.
Looking after a relief floor
A flat mop with a cloth picks up dirt from the tops of the relief and leaves it in the hollows. For a relief floor these work better:
- a vacuum cleaner or brush for dry cleaning;
- a medium-bristle brush and warm water with a neutral cleaner for wet cleaning;
- for large areas, a scrubber-dryer with a soft brush.

FAQ
Which relief is less slippery? Checker plate gives more grip when wet thanks to ribs running in two directions. Stud also grips better than a smooth covering.
Which is easier to wash? Stud: there are wide smooth gaps between the studs.
Can the two reliefs be combined in one room? Yes. The material is the same thickness, and the sheets are butted and welded with cord. Light grey 7046 is available in both reliefs.
Does the relief wear off over time? The relief is formed in the body of the covering, not applied on top. The first thing to wear is the tops of the studs or ribs in the busiest spots.
